How building works

Hammer and station

You build with the hammer. Most pieces need a workbench nearby, stone ones need a stonecutter, and some late ones need other stations.

Structural integrity

Each piece supports a limited weight: the farther from the ground, the weaker the support, and the highlight color while building changes from blue to red. Stone and marble support taller structures than wood.

Rain and roof

Most wooden and iron pieces without a roof lose health in the rain (down to half), and crafting stations do not work without a roof. Stone and marble pieces mostly do not suffer from rain.

Comfort

Furniture, fire, rugs and other decor add comfort. It lengthens the Rested buff. From one group (for example, chairs), only the best item nearby counts.
